Wine Lovers Enjoy Classy Drinking Game

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Beer pong isn’t the be-all, end-all of drinking games.

Wine instructor Tamara Leigh Murphy is the creator of a board game called Winerd, which teaches players about wine through wine tasting.

Players use corks as game pieces and answer trivia questions about wine. At certain points, players partake in “blind taste tests,” where they delicately sip on wine and answer related questions.

Murphy says her game makes people realize the challenge behind wine tasting and how “dynamic” wine can truly be.

She explains, “As wine sits there, it opens up and changes, so it may not taste the same as before.”

Murphy advises playing her game with three bottles of wine – red or white – and cleansing your palate with water between tastes to “keep those senses sharp” and win.

She considers Winerd “more of a tasting game than a drinking game” since players only down about two glasses of wine per round.

The game is popular with retired winos, newlyweds, and moms.
