FMyLife.com is a website where people share stories that explain why their life sucks. At the end of each entry, users write FML, which stands for fþþk my life, to further prove that their life stinks.
One entry reads, Today, I told my mom I loved her and she asked if I was going to kill myself. FML, while another laments, Today, my crush talked to me for the first time. He told me to stop staring. FML.
Spokesperson Alan Holding says the often cringe-worthy stories allow people to take the piss out of themselves and unites Debbie Downers all over the world.
He explains, People recognize themselves in different stories. In the comments section youll see someone from Poland tell someone in Australia, Oh that happened to me. Embarrassment translates into all cultures.
Though the sad sack stories can be depressing, Holding says users often write to the authors to cheer them up.
