Former BOSTON Drummer Almost Mobbed By Mobsters

BOSTON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Former BOSTON drummer Sib Hashian is back, but this time around, he’s not playing any gigs for mobsters.

Hashian is now in a band called Ernie And The Automatics whose debut album, Low Expectations, drops on February 17.

The band includes other Boston-based musicians and Hashian’s former BOSTON bandmate Barry Goudreau.

They’ve been playing gigs in “beer and rib joints” all over town, which reminds Hashian of the crazy shows he and Goudreau used to book as teenagers.

They’d play “seven sets a night, seven days a week” in Downtown Boston, an area with a heavy mob influence.

Hashian recalls jamming for a group of mobsters at a club once who nearly had him sleeping with the fishes by the end of the show.

He explains, “The club had a tuxedo dress code and Barry and I weren’t dressed properly. We were in jeans and T- shirts. A mobster told us, ‘We shoot guys like you on the spot!’ We got out of there so fast!”

Hashian has no intentions of playing for mobsters with his new band.
