Hashian is now in a band called Ernie And The Automatics whose debut album, Low Expectations, drops on February 17.
The band includes other Boston-based musicians and Hashians former BOSTON bandmate Barry Goudreau.
Theyve been playing gigs in beer and rib joints all over town, which reminds Hashian of the crazy shows he and Goudreau used to book as teenagers.
Theyd play seven sets a night, seven days a week in Downtown Boston, an area with a heavy mob influence.
Hashian recalls jamming for a group of mobsters at a club once who nearly had him sleeping with the fishes by the end of the show.
He explains, The club had a tuxedo dress code and Barry and I werent dressed properly. We were in jeans and T- shirts. A mobster told us, We shoot guys like you on the spot! We got out of there so fast!
Hashian has no intentions of playing for mobsters with his new band.
