Man Hopes To Lift Spirits With Depression-Themed Party

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – While many people fear that the current economy will lead to a new Depression, one man sees it as an excuse for a party.

Tomorrow (Dec. 20), Rich Wise will hold his “2nd Great Depression Holiday Joy Ride,” where folks will dress up in Depression-era garb straight out of the Little Rascals comedies.

Guests will be divided into teams, given a set of clues, and drive around the city looking to solve Roosevelt-era riddles.

When they return to Wise’s house, they’ll enjoy an authentic soup kitchen experience while listening to uplifting Depression ditties like “Brother, Can You Spare A Dime?” and “We’re In The Money.”

Wise explains, “It’s a tongue-in-cheek way of lifting people’s spirits – and it’s cheaper and more fun than an elaborate party.”

Although he expects guests will go out of their way to look like hobos, tramps, and oakies, Wise asks that they wear some combination of purple and lime green to tell them apart from real homeless people who might want to crash the shindig.
