Thanksgiving (Nov. 27) Food Is Squeeze-Friendly

SANTA ANA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Now, Thanksgiving (Nov. 27) food – including the veggies – can be your kid’s main squeeze.

Malcolm Kushner is the author of California Squisine: Healthy Food That’s Fast, Fun, And Squeezable For Kids (Reed), a book that features recipes for dishes that can be squeezed out of a tube, plastic bottle, or cake frosting bag.

Kushner says Thanksgiving fare is perfect for squeezing, and kids will have fun playing with their food.

He recommends the kiddies make healthy “pumpkin spread,” which consists of cream cheese, canned pumpkin, pumpkin spice, and honey in a squeeze tube, and put it on vegetables or grain crackers.

He adds, “They can also use the spread to squeeze out little designs on their plates. Parents can make it a Thanksgiving contest!”

Kushner says “Squisine” is meant for picky eaters to learn to have fun with their food and try their creations.

He says Thanksgiving yams, collard greens, mashed potatoes, and other veggies could become kid favorites if they turn it into squeezable cuisine.
