With her stage show Thank You for Firing Me!, comedienne Kitty Martini is helping folks get payback for their pay cuts by allowing them to vent out their anger on stage.
Audience members and comedians are invited to pelt a pretend boss with marshmallows and berate them to their hearts content.
Martini explains, Its a funny, entertaining way to get your hostilities out. Its like when Charlie Chaplin made light of the depression. Being silly helps people pull themselves up by their bootstraps and move forward.
Martini invites attendees to bring their former or current bosses to the show, because maybe theyll learn to appreciate their work.
She says, I think showing your boss the stress youre going through will help you get closer to them. Youll understand each other better if you can rip into one another.
Thank You for Firing Me! plays this Saturday (Nov. 22) at the Carlsbad Village Theater.
