Nicole Sullivan Forms First Garage Band

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actress Nicole Sullivan is living out her dream of being a rockstar.

The former MADtv funny lady plays a mom who starts a garage band on Lifetime’s new sitcom, Rita Rocks, and Sullivan says the thought of having her own musical posse is pretty cool.

She’s never been in a real band before but remembers rockin’ out with her sister and dad back in the day, singing “three-part harmonies to The Mamas & the Papas.

Sullivan also enjoys jamming to Abba and Billy Joel and has always fantasized about working the crowd at a concert.

She once learned all of the dance moves to Britney Spears’ “Oops...I Did It Again” because, in her words, “I thought, ‘I can totally do this. I can be a pop or rockstar!’”

Although Sullivan actually sings and plays some guitar on Rita Rocks, she’s not exactly living like a rockstar.

She laughs, “I haven’t smashed any guitars or trashed my dressing room yet. It’s just not as cute when you’re a 30-something-year-old rocker!”

Rita Rocks premieres tonight (Oct. 20) on Lifetime.
