‘Home Improvement’ Alum Handy On The Set

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Former Home Improvement actor Richard Karn is still pretty handy to have around.

Karn – who played Tim Allen’s handyman sidekick Al Borland on Home Improvement – is hosting Bingo America, a game show that fuses trivia with traditional bingo, and he’s a real fixer-upper emcee.

When something breaks on the set, Karn is the first one to fix it with a secret, sticky tool he always carries.

He says, “If a problem arises, I’m all over it with duct tape. I’m prepared to fix things fast!”

Karn is also handy to have around when dealing with insecure and nervous game show contestants.

During breaks, he reminds them to calm down, think, and breathe, and even plays game show Dr. Phil sometimes.

Once while hosting Family Feud, he wound up in an elevator with a contestant who had 28 siblings and felt like her family didn’t like her.

He told her that they’d chosen her to represent the family, so of course they liked her.

Season two of Bingo America premieres today (Oct. 6) on GSN.
