Gorillas Run Wild Through London

LONDON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Hundreds of gorillas are going bananas through the streets of London.

Tomorrow (Sep. 27), The Gorilla Organization will have their Great Gorilla Run, in which 720 humans dressed in gorilla suits run four miles through London to raise money for the organization.

Spokesperson Abi Girling says monkeying around in the furry costume can be tough.

She says, “Some people train beforehand in the gorilla suit or with the head on so they can get used to it. It’s a lot of fun, but it can get pretty hot.”

Girling says that runners pump themselves up by making loud ape noises, pounding their chests, and fueling up with – what else? – bananas.

Though 720 runners is a lot of primates for the London streets, it represents the low number of mountain gorillas left in the world.

However, Girling hopes the number is high enough to break the Guiness World Record for biggest crowd of people dressed as gorillas.
