Republicans Out To Tamper With Votes

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When it comes to voting, never trust a Republican.

That’s the warning from Steven Rosenfeld, author of the voting guide Count My Vote (AlterNet Books).

He says Right Wingers are known to mess and tamper with voting systems to curve the vote in their favor.

According to Rosenfeld, Republicans are guilty of removing names from polling lists, letting long lines build up to deter people from voting, challenging voters’ credentials, and denying their right to vote if they can’t provide specific types of ID.

Rosenfeld says these dirty tactics are a way to “shape the electorate in Republican’s favor” by making it difficult for people who are most likely to vote Democrat, like minorities or low-income voters, to cast a ballot.

Rosenfeld says, “Whenever you make something more complicated, people are going to walk away. Republicans are complicating things to discourage Democratic votes.”

Though these sneaky strategies can’t be avoided, Rosenfeld says the best thing is to call your local election office to make sure you’re properly registered.
