Carol Alt: ‘Modeling Is Empowering For Women’

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Brunette beauty Carol Alt believes modeling is an empowering career choice for women.

Alt – who’s graced the covers of more than 700 magazines – has just penned This Year’s Model (Avon), a novel about the high-stakes world of modeling.

According to Alt, modeling isn’t a sleazy career, but rather empowering and one of the only businesses where a woman can make more money than a man.

She explains, “In modeling, beautiful women control their own destinies. If you’re smart and beautiful, you can call ALL the shots.”

Alt says she’s never felt exploited in the beauty biz, because she’s always been the one who gained the most from her spreads.

She explains, “When I did Sports Illustrated, everybody won. They sold tons of magazines and I got a huge name and career out of it!”

Alt says managing a successful modeling career takes lots of hard work, smarts, and independence.

Over the years she’s learned to solely rely on herself and “never ask another model for help,” and to be fearless during crazy shoots which have included dangling upside down from the Brooklyn Bridge.
