Will Olympics Cause ‘Ugly Betty’ Set To Shut Down?

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s a good thing the Olympics are over this Sunday (Aug. 24) because it’s severely affecting the set of Ugly Betty.

That’s the sports scoop from series star Ana Ortiz, who says all of the show’s stars are so into the summer games, they can’t concentrate on their scripts.

Ortiz – who plays Hilda Suarez on Ugly Betty – is “so obsessed” with the Olympics that she can’t focus at work because she wants to watch TV every second.

She laughs, “In between takes we’re all literally running to our dressing rooms to watch the Olympics on TV. I love gymnastics, but swimming has now become my obsession. Michael Phelps is incredible and Dara Torres – the 41- year-old swimmer – oh my God, she’s such an inspiration!”

Ortiz’s co-star, Mark Indelicato, who plays her son on Ugly Betty, is in the same boat and also fanatically follows the sports.

He says, “I really loved the synchronized diving. We kept saying they all look like twins because they dive at the same pace. It’s so crazy!”
