Rich half of the hit country duo Big & Rich has a reputation for being a no-nonsense judge on Nashville Star and insists hes even tougher than Idol music mogul Simon Cowell.
While he admits that Simon has a great ear for signing hit artists, Rich believes he has more first-hand experience in the music world.
He explains, Simon has never toured, written songs, or lost a record deal I have.
Rich has been in the music biz since he was 18 years old, when he began touring with the country band Lonestar.
A few years later, he was fired from the band unexpectedly, and realized how cutthroat the music industry actually is.
His experiences made him the sharp-tongued straight shooter he is today, which leads him to believe hed win the battle of crabby TV judges.
He says, Id eat Simon Cowell for lunch!
The season finale of Nashville Star airs tonight (Aug. 4) on NBC.
