Lindsay Davenport Loves The Racket Of Parenting

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For tennis star Lindsay Davenport, the real racket is at home with her baby boy.

After giving birth to her son Jagger a year ago, Davenport – who’s won 54 Women’s Tennis Association titles – is returning to the court for this summer’s US Open.

While being a mommy has kept her calm by allowing her to focus on other things besides her game, there’s another side to the swingin’ story.

She says, “I’m happier mentally, but when I come off the court, I have 20 minutes before it’s mommy time. Sometimes I feel guilty playing tennis, so I overcompensate by being in Jagger’s face all the time!”

Davenport’s new calm should help her on the court – as long as her son’s nowhere in sight.

She says, “I don’t mind if he’s in the stands, but I don’t want to see or hear him! I don’t want to be out there on the court thinking, ‘It’s nap time, you’ve gotta leave!’”
