No Dirty Play In Duck Race

ALPINE, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A rubber duck race in Alpine, California, is keeping things squeaky clean.

The 2nd Annual Luau at the Ranch and Great Duck Race is coming to Alpine, California, this Saturday (May 31), and will have as many as 200 yellow rubber duckies racing down a 60-foot swimming pool to win a $500 prize.

Even with the fierce quacking competition, Jo Moreland, with the Alpine Chamber of Commerce, says everyone plays clean.

She says, “There are no advantages. Every duck is a uniform size. You can’t bring a duck from home or dress it up in luau clothing, although that would look cute. The only strategy is to buy your standard duck at the event and cheer for it.”

With the proceeds from each $10 duck going to the Alpine Union School District, sink or swim, you’re quacking up funds for a good cause.
