Artists Jason Krugman, Stella Kim and Ben Chao recently unveiled their latest artwork, Teste Touch, which is a pair of huge testicles that react to touch and temperature.
The nutty art studies human response and interaction, and making the big balls took some awkward research.
Krugman says, We spent a long time making them look as real as possible. We used Google image, and a lot of horrible things came up. We wanted it not to be so disgusting, only a little.
Some fellow artists have gotten testy, calling the work mere shock art, and Krugman says the blackballing response has been rough literally.
Krugman explains, People have punched the testicles, crushed them, hung on them, swung from them. The people who are most rough with them are middle-aged women. I think they might be getting back at someone they dont like from the past.
