Moms Play Favorites, Thoughtful Gifts Can Change Ranking

MONTEREY, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Your gift to Mom this Mother’s Day (May 11) may determine your ranking as her favorite kid.

According to a survey by, 64 percent of moms admit they secretly have a favorite child, and 25 percent of them say that the right Mother’s Day gift can change their kids’ rankings on her favorites list.

So, you better think long and hard about Mom’s special gift this year – and get ready to drop some cash!

An overwhelming 58 percent of moms would like a tech gadget like a flat screen television, digital camera, computer, cell phone, GPS unit, and iPod or MP3 player.

Other mamas wished for gifts like a spa day, gourmet cooking classes, craft lessons, diamonds, a new car, and a night at the opera.

But to give Mom a good gift, you have to know her personality.

About 12 percent of moms see themselves as harried mother Jane Kaczmarek from Malcolm In The Middle, while 10 percent relate to June Cleaver from Leave It To Beaver, and 8 percent to Florence Henderson of The Brady Bunch.
