Thats the dish from author Julie Edelman, whos just penned The Ultimate Accidental Housewife: Your Guide To A Clean-Enough House (Hyperion).
In her book, Edelman a self-proclaimed accidental housewife gives tips on how to use cheap, everyday items to fight household stains and scum, and one of those useful cleaning agents is vodka.
Due to its alcohol content, Edelman says vodka can be used to sanitize countertops, walls, and bathrooms, get tough grass stains out of clothing, and even clean jewelry.
But the household uses for random items dont stop there.
She says a drop of hand sanitizer works wonders on coffee stains, a couple Alka-Seltzer tablets leave toilets sparkling clean, and red wine stains can be countered with white wine.
Although Edelmans quick fixes may leave prim and proper Martha Stewart-style housewives mortified, they work.
She says, No one has the time, energy, or desire to do all those chores that bore. These are ways to get your house clean enough without ruining your manicure.
The Ultimate Accidental Housewife hits shelves April 15.
