The Southern-style rocker chick was given the boot from Idol this past Wednesday (Mar. 19), and although shed still like to break into the music biz, shes not going to chase the elusiveness of fame.
Overmyer explains, I really hope my music career works out, but if Idol is just my 15 minutes of fame, thats okay. Im not going to chase fame trying to get it back. Im going to make calculated decisions to achieve success for myself. Success is different for everyone.
Still, Overmyer is thankful for her Idol exposure, and glad she made her mark as a unique artist on the show.
She says, Its very warming that I had that much support from America, even though I was cut out of a different mold than the other contestants. I was like a square peg in a round hole. I know Im different, but its cool to see that Im unique in the nations eyes too.
American Idol airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays on FOX.
