Grocery Bags Style Up Homes

EXETER, England (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Used grocery bags are the hip, new trend in home decor.

Novelty gift website KitschULike.com has created the Carrier Bag Chair and Pouffe, which are big, comfy seats stuffed with recycled grocery bags.

The chairs are made of see-through gauze, allowing buyers to choose the color they’d like by using colored bags, and they fit up to 3,000 plastic bags, with the chair’s firmness depending on the amount you stuff in it.

When it comes to comfort, creator Nik Sutherland recommends going cheap with the bags.

He explains, “For the chair, the cheaper the bag, the better it is. The cheap bags are usually made of thinner plastic, so they crumple better and are softer.”

According to Sutherland, the idea came when, as a broke student, he had to fill an old bean bag chair with bags to have something to sit on.

Now he hopes other broke students and environmentally conscious consumers will spruce up their home with the bag.
