‘Cheese Racing’ Champ Hopes To Get Into Olympics

BRISTOL, England (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Olympics just might get a bit cheesier.

British sports enthusiast Andy Smith has invented a sport called “cheese racing,” which consists of throwing packaged slices of processed cheese onto a barbecue grill and seeing whose packet inflates first.

And Smith says his strange sport actually takes some talent.

He says, “You have to get the hottest part of the barbecue, but it can’t be too hot, or else the plastic will spring a leak and the cheese will ooze out, so you have to throw it strategically.”

Smith thinks cheese racing should be considered for the Olympics, especially since there are already some pretty silly sports on the Olympic roster like darts and table tennis.

Smith says, “I’m trying to be realistic about this, and know it’s probably not going to be added, but why not? There’s a certain prestige in cheese racing.”
