John Schneider Clowns Around

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actor John Schneider has some silly childhood memories that involve a whole lot of clowning around – literally!

Schneider – best known as Bo Duke from the original Dukes of Hazzard and for his role on Smallville – says some of his favorite childhood memories are of the times he, his brother, and his grandpa performed in parades.

Schneider’s grandfather was a volunteer fireman in Katonah, New York, and every year, he’d participate in local parades while Schneider and his brother ran around dressed up as clowns, handing out balloons to parade goers.

Schneider says, “I was a clown from age seven to 11, and it was great! We had so much fun, and I can still remember putting on our clown makeup, which was always sprawled out on the pool table in the firehouse before the big parade.”

Luckily, Schneider says he wasn’t “clown-a- phobic” as a kid, so the gagster gig came easily to him.

And another thing Schneider isn’t afraid of is a little blood, which helps him out with his current role on Nip/Tuck.

He adds, “I get more squeamish watching the episodes than acting in them!”
