Radio Station Mettles In Monkey Business

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An Internet radio station is taking matters into their own opposable thumbs to stop some Hollywood monkey business.

Cheeta, Tarzan’s famous chimp sidekick – who has since become a famous “ape-stract” painter – has been repeatedly overlooked for a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, and on the same chimp coin, the beloved band The Monkees haven’t been able to climb into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

And with a petition and auction running now through the end of November, is trying to get the primates – both real and rockin’ – the credit they deserve.

Station DJ Becky Ebenkamp says, “Cheeta’s had a career spanning seven decades, and he’s been in major motion pictures. Even fake animals like Bugs Bunny and Godzilla have stars. Godzilla, I’m so sure! I mean, did he even show up to his ceremony?”

And while Ebenkamp sings The Monkees’ praises, her human heart lies with the chimp’s cause.

She says, “If Ryan Seacrest can have a star, then Cheeta deserves one too. It’s a very dubious distinction being Ryan Seacrest!”
