Wear Your Wednesday Worst For National Gaudy Day

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Break out those huge hoop earings and neon fanny packs, because this Wednesday (Oct. 17), it’s time to dress in showy, snazzy style.

Tomorrow is Wear Something Gaudy Day, an annual celebration that gives people a chance to bust out their most daring duds cluttering their closets, like taffeta skirts, Lee Press-on Nails, and that bedazzled broach.

For guys in need of some icons of gaudy guy garb, look no further than some classic TV fashion victims.

The tacky tradition was inspired by Larry Dallas’ funky fashion on Three’s Company, and Bob Matthews, the owner of Holidayinsights.com, adds another 80’s character into the kitschy collection.

He says, “Herb Tarlek on WKRP in Cincinnati – try to find a suitcoat like his.”

But be careful where you wear your weird, wild wardrobe.

Matthews says, “If you’re going to work in a business environment, you want to make sure it’s okay with the boss. I sell real estate, so I’m not going to wear something gaudy.”
