Today, (Oct. 2), Campbell is releasing Glen Campbell Goodtimes Again, a DVD of his most cherished performances from his variety show, The Goodtime Hour, which held the top spot on TV from 1969-1972.
The compilation features Campbell crooning the classics with Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Ray Charles, but despite a life in the singing spotlight, Campbell says hitting the golf course was always his hole-in-one way of staying sane.
He says, The golf course was about the only place you could not be bugged. Thats probably why I started playing.
In his celebrity career, Campbell swung with stars like Dean Martin and Willie Nelson, but when it came to getting Frank Sinatra on the links, Campbell hit a bogey.
He says, I tried to get Frank to play golf, but he never could learn how!
And Campbell even has some advice to keep the new crop of Hollywood hot shots on par.
He says, You gotta be nice. Dont be rude. And go play golf!
