‘Chuck’ Actor Gets His Nerd On, Ponders The Wonders Of Velcro

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actor Zach Levi is bringing nerdy back in the upcoming dramedy Chuck, and he’s been preparing for the role his entire life.

Levi – best known for his work on the series Less Than Perfect – plays computer geek-turned-government agent Chuck Bartkowski on Chuck, and he’s ready to make “nerdy” the new cool of primetime.

Levi jokes, “I’ve been bringing cool to nerds for years, so I’m up for the challenge! All of the video games I’ve played in my life have really helped prepare me for this character.”

But although Levi revels in his “nerdom,” he’s not quite up to Chuck’s geek par when it comes to computer skills.

Levi explains, “I’m pretty computer savvy, but I’m not the greatest typist in the world. But I can poke my way through a keyboard like nobody’s business!”

And while Levi’s character holds some serious geek power by having access to tons of high-security government secrets, Levi admits if he could truly know any secret, it wouldn’t exactly be government related.

He says, “I’d just want to know how velcro works. That has boggled my mind for years!”

Chuck premieres September 24 on NBC.
