KT Tunstall Scores Strumming Street Cred

VERONA, Italy (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Scottish songstress KT Tunstall is taking her strumming and singing to the streets.

Last Monday (Sept. 3), Tunstall took to the streets of Glasgow, Scotland, busking and belting for charity and to raise awareness for her new album, Drastic Fantastic, which hits stores September 18.

Tunstall says, “It was great. Obviously I don’t need the cash, but it was a great way to raise money for a good cause.”

Despite getting her singing start on Scotland’s streets, Tunstall’s heart – and guitar – strings are still tuned to the United States.

Tunstall spent her senior year of high school in the Northeast, and says, “I fell for a hippy in Vermont, and ended up living in the hills around Burlington for a summer. Church Street was a great place to busk.”

And even though she’s a superstar, Tunstall and Burlington, Vermont, still have a special busking bond.

She says, “I was given a lifetime busking pass, which I was very proud of!”
