‘The Cheetah Girls’ Cause Skanky Style

WILMINGTON, N.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One author says Disney Channel darlings The Cheetah Girls, are to blame for your daughter’s skanky style.

Celia Rivenbanks is the author of Stop Dressing Your Six- Year-Old Like A Skank (St. Martins), and she says trashy, trendy threads pre-teens wear like halter tops, leopard print pants, and velour jump suits can be traced to your little girl’s love for The Disney Channel and its tween stars.

Rivenbanks argues, “The Cheetah Girls dress very skanky, but they’re teenagers. It looks bad on them, but on a little girl, it’s absurd.”

And while TV tweens may be to blame for the disastrous duds worn by skanky six-year-olds, Riverbanks suggests pointing the failing fashion finger at parents first.

Rivenbanks says some parents think “it’s funny dressing their kids like streetwalkers,” but urges parents to stay strong and just say no to skanky style.
