Corinne West belts out bluegrass gems on her new album, Second Sight, and the musician says her time traveling the country as a teenager on a converted school bus and playing on street corners opened up her eyes and ears to the real world.
West says, It was kind of a radical thing to do, traveling with these artistic, nomadic, intelligent people. I had to quickly figure out how to work with audiences.
And, as one incident proves, it doesnt take long for Wests songs to move you.
She explains, Our bus broke down in Iowa, and I hitched a ride on an 18-wheeler. The driver ended up proposing to me it was only a 10-hour drive!
