Truckers Swoon While Singer Croons

MARIN COUNTY, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Hitchhiking across the country for nearly three years was the only school one brave bluegrass singer needed.

Corinne West belts out bluegrass gems on her new album, Second Sight, and the musician says her time traveling the country as a teenager on a converted school bus and playing on street corners opened up her eyes – and ears – to the real world.

West says, “It was kind of a radical thing to do, traveling with these artistic, nomadic, intelligent people. I had to quickly figure out how to work with audiences.”

And, as one incident proves, it doesn’t take long for West’s songs to move you.

She explains, “Our bus broke down in Iowa, and I hitched a ride on an 18-wheeler. The driver ended up proposing to me – it was only a 10-hour drive!”
