Most Questionable Car Designs Of All Time

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you think you drive a beater, you may be right.

Hagerty Insurance, the nation’s largest collector car insurance company, has just released their list of the “Most Questionable Car Designs Of All Time” and the tiny, 1970’s AMC Pacer tops the ranks as the ride that only a mother could love.

Turns out, clients think the puny Pacer is poorly styled, and liken its compact design to a “pregnant roller skate” or a “fish bowl on wheels.”

Other hunks of junk that made the list include...

  • The 1980’s-inspired Yugo, which is known for its poor quality and constant mechanical flaws. As one former Yugo owner puts it, “My Yugo improved my mechanic skills greatly.”

  • Notorious junker, the 70’s-esque Ford Pinto, which is widely known for its design flaw that caused tons of explosions in rear-end collisions. In one respondent’s words, “Underpowered, cheap plastic, bodies prone to rust, and oh yeah, they blow up too!”

  • Finally, the much newer Pontiac Aztek doesn’t fare too well among car collectors due to its awkward, sporty appearance. A car lover jokes, “There must’ve been a front-end design team and a rear-end design team, and the two teams never spoke to each other.”
