Cat School Purrs Into New York

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Feline fanatics in New York City are scratching for the start of school.

The Meow Mix Acatemy is opening its doors next Tuesday (Aug. 21), and the five day event is offering informational presentations with veterinarians, pet psychologists, and even cat psychics, all to help cat owners understand their pet’s particular personality.

According to Joe Tuza, Vice President of Del Monte Pet Products, “It’s important that people understand cats’ needs, not just physically, but emotionally.”

But it’s not all “acatemic” – there are fun feline events too, like a DJ teaching the art of “scratching,” a climbing wall, and even cots set up to take a cozy “cat nap.”

Tuza says, “People will realize that acting like a cat is actually pretty fun.”

And when cat class is over, students can meet some cat-centric special guests who will help purr on the cat celebration, including celebrity chef Cat Cora, singer Kat Deluna, and actor Vinnie Pastore, who played Big Pussy on The Sopranos.
