Kool & The Gang Works Hard To Stay Cool

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s not easy staying cool in the music biz, but Kool & The Gang know how to keep it fresh and “Get Down On It,” even after making music for more than 40 years.

The soulful R&B band, whose hits include “Jungle Boogie” and “Ladies Night,” have just released their first studio album in 10 years, called Kool & The Gang: Still Kool, and frontman Robert “Kool” Bell says their new jams are as cool as ever.

Says Bell: “It took us many, many years to get this album to where we wanted it. It’s new and hip, but still has our classic feel to it.”

But it’s not just new songs that keep Bell and his band cool these days, in fact, he says touring, traveling, and getting along with each other are their tricks of the trade when it comes to longevity in the biz.

And having a hit song like “Celebration,” is pretty helpful too.

Bell explains, “Whenever we play that song in a show, it makes us feel so cool because the crowd goes crazy. That’s how we know they still love us!”
