Don’t Ask Travel Channel Host To Bring Back Souvenirs

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Travel Channel’s leading lady, Samantha Brown, travels all over the world – but don’t ask her to bring you back any souvenirs.

Brown – who hosts the Passport series where she treks across the globe – makes it perfectly clear to her family and friends that when she travels, she’s “not buying you nothin’.”

Says Brown: “I’m trying to make money from my show, not spend it! Everytime I travel everyone wants wine and other goodies and there’s no way I’m lugging 40 pounds of stuff back home. Unless of course, it’s for me.”

However, Brown makes exceptions every once in a while and picks up gifts for her loved ones’ birthdays from Europe and Latin America.

She adds, “I send postcards too. Especially if I’m in a really special place and I miss my family.”

And while she’s exploring the world, Brown’s custom is to bring back a small piece of each country home with her.

She explains, “I pick up little things everywhere I go that I can turn into Christmas ornaments. That way, our Christmas tree reminds me of all of the wonderful places and people I’ve seen.”

Brown’s latest series, Passport To Latin America premieres Wednesday (June 6).
