Phish Keyboardist Swims Solo

BURLINGTON, VT (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You can take a Phish out of water, but you can’t stop him from rockin’ out.

That’s the motto of former Phish piano man Page McConnell, who’s swimming solo on his new self-titled album.

McConnell begins his album tour starting May 30 in Burlington, Vermont, but the rockstar admits that after 22 years of touring with Phish, the road doesn’t quite lure him like it used to.

Says McConnell: “It doesn’t thrill me to be away from home.”

Luckily, he has been able to take the past few years off from the stress of touring to write and record his new album, which features guest appearances by his former school of bandmates.

But McConnell insists his new sound is far from the music of Phish.

He adds, “People shouldn’t listen to the album or come to the tour expecting to see Phish – I have my own sound, which is good because most people have a hard time singing a Phish song.”
