Former ‘MST3000’ Host Mike Nelson Now Riffing On Good Movies

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Former Mystery Science Theater 3000 host Mike Nelson is used to making snarky comments about bad movies, but now he’s doing the same to good ones as well.

Nelson is now running www.rifftrax.com, a website that allows fans to download mp3 commentaries of films like Lord Of The Rings, Terminator 3 and the first episode of the ABC series Lost.

He also gives the business to bad movies as well, such as Cocktail, Over The Top and the Britney Spears bomb Crossroads.

Nelson started the website to help humanity.

As he puts it, “No longer do you have to deal with all the drudgery of sitting through Battlefield: Earth and being forced to come up with your own jokes.”

So far, Nelson is averaging three “riff tracks” a month including an upcoming commentary track to Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory featuring Neil Patrick Harris.

And while the program is new, Nelson says he’s already hearing fans gripe that Crossroads “is now unavailable at stores that had 30 copies laying around until recently.”
