Actress Nia Peeples Learns To Love Soap Operas

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Soap operas have a reputation for their ridiculous plot lines, but they’re actually more realistic than you think.

At least that’s what actress Nia Peeples now thinks.

Peeples – best known for her role on the 80’s TV series Fame – joins the cast of The Young And The Restless starting April 18, and admits she now has a newfound understanding of just how realistic soap opera scenarios can be.

Says Peeples: “I always thought soaps were so overly dramatic and unrealistic. But I was at kids soccer game the other day and my sister started telling me all the scandals with the soccer parents and I thought ‘Oh my gosh, It’s a mini soap opera, these things do happen!”’

And while Peeples is seeing the relevance in soaps more, she still expects to endure her share of typical soap opera moments like love triangles, face slaps, and evil twins.

She adds, “You can’t escape the cliches of a really good soap. I mean when my own dad heard I was going to be on the show the first thing he said was, ‘Well, who you gonna sleep with first?”’
