Thats the question being asked by a San Diego attorney who is trying to market a cat box he believes is the cats meow.
David Schwartz says his Outdoor Litterbox helps reduce the unsightly smell of cat urine and feces via a little tunnel that connects from the house to a special covered cat box just outside.
Like all inventions, necessity was the mother of Schwartz creation. He says he has three cats and hated how they took over one room of his house for their bathroom.
So he made a prototype box that allowed the cats to do their business outside even in the rain, and soon discovered other folks wanted them as well.
Schwartz now has a patent for the litterbox, but says he hasnt been able to sell the idea to pet products companies because, he says, theres always some reason like the guys boss has been fired and everything is in a holding pattern.
However, he is holding out hope that he may one day be known as the ``Thomas Edison of Cat Toilets'' and insists hed be prouder to admit that than telling people hes a lawyer.
