Tiny Tot Drum Master Gets Lifetime Achievement Award

DETROIT (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It takes some musicians a lifetime to achieve what one toddler prodigy has achieved in two years.

That’s the case with Julian Pavone, a nearly three-year- old musical genius known as “The World’s Youngest Drummer,” who is receiving the 2007 Rock and Roll Lifetime Achievement Award at Hard Rock Cafe Cleveland next Friday (Feb. 23).

Julian’s dad Bernie Pavone explains: “Julian is amazing at the drums... he just shreds, every time.”

Although it’s ironic that a two year-old is getting a lifetime achievement award, Pavone feels his son is well- deserving of the honor for his drumming skills.

However, Julian, doesn’t quite understand the meaning of the award.

Says Pavone: “I gave Julian a five minute explanation of why he’s getting the award and at the end he just smiled and said, ‘Oh Baba [dad], you’re so cute.”’

He adds, “Julian thinks it’s a trophy like the one he got in a karate tournament.”

While most lifetime award recipients come prepared with an acceptance speech, Pavone insists Julian has no rehearsed speech and can “say whatever he wants.”
