America’s Dirtiest Hotel Comes Clean

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Tropicana Resort Hotel in Virginia Beach, Virginia, was recently declared the “dirtiest hotel in America.”

Now, a resort spokeswoman is coming clean about the dubious honor.

The travel website says the Tropicana deserves the dirty tag, thanks to more than 79 reviews that refer to the hotel as “a pig slum” and “the toilet bowl of Virginia Beach.”

Naturally, resort manager Stephanie Newsom is disappointed by the award but insists some reviews are exaggerated.

Newsom suspects many negative reviews were from folks who visited the hotel last summer after a huge storm hit the area and left the building damaged.

She admits that reviews calling the Tropicana “dingy, musty and wet,” were once true, but claims the hotel has now been completely renovated.

As she puts it, “We had the worst housekeeping staff in the world last year, but we fired all of them.”

Newsom hopes the Tropicana Resort can redeem itself and be on the ‘good hotels’ list very soon.
