‘Psych’ Star Victim Of ‘Intense Psychic Backlash’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The price of being on a hit cable series may be mentally challenging for actor James Roday.

He’s the star of the USA network show, Psych, where he plays a guy who helps the police by pretending to be psychic.

As such, Roday has exposed many of the techniques used by psychics to convince people of their mental powers, including cold reading and careful observation.

He says, as a result, he is now the victim of what he calls an “intense psychic backlash.”

Luckily, he says he’s been shielded from it, thanks to his long hours on set.

Still, he admits his portrayal of a fake psychic has had some unexpected effect in the real world. As he puts it, “I’m giving charlatans a lot more publicity.”

Psych returns for its second season on January 19.
