Home Run Trot Could Lead To Real Run For The Border

ST. LOUIS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If someone hits a home run over the left field fence during the World Series game tonight (Oct. 24), that home run trot could cause millions of Americans to run for the border.

That’s because Taco Bell is promising a free Seasoned Beef Taco to every American if any player on either the St. Louis Cardinals or the Detroit Tigers hits a dinger over the left field fence at Busch Stadium.

One person who is hoping for a free taco is Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk, whose home run over the left field fence in the 1975 World Series is still considered one of the most dramatic in history.

However, Fisk admits that a home run tonight could get more play, if only because Americans love getting something free. As he puts it, “If anyone hits that homer, he’ll be an American hero.”

Although Fisk is personally rooting for the Tigers to win the Series, he says Cardinals infielders Albert Pujols and Scott Rolen are the players most likely to hit what will no doubt be called the “home run for the border.”
