Patty Hearst’s Sister Not Planning To Watch ‘Kidnapped’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Dana Delany hopes her new series, Kidnapped, will be a hit but she already knows one person who won’t be watching.

Delany plays a mother desperately seeking her missing son and admits she got a rude awakening when she was talking about the show to Anne Hearst, the sister of notorious kidnap victim- turned-bank robber Patty Hearst.

Says Delany: “She told me she guesses she won’t be watching it, after I told her what it was about.”

Although Delany was shocked at first, she can understand why Hearst wouldn’t want to resurrect painful memories from that dark time in the mid-1970s.

Delany admits Hearst wasn’t the only one reluctant to talk about her kidnap experiences, so instead she turned to other forms of pain to bring to her role as a desperate mother looking for her missing son.

As she puts it, “Loss is loss – we all can relate to that.”

Kidnapped debuts September 20 on NBC.
