Superhero Discovers No One Wants To Call Her By Name

LANCASTER, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When you’re a superhero named “Fat Momma,” don’t be surprised if people are a little afraid to say your name in public.

That’s the dilemma facing Nell Wilson, who, as “Fat Momma,” is one of the aspiring heroes on the Sci Fi Channel reality show, Who Wants To Be A Superhero?

Wilson says she usually doesn’t wear her pink superhero costume in public so fans find it awkward when they recognize her.

As she puts it, “People don’t want to say, ‘Hey Fat Momma,’ so they ask me if I’m on ‘that superhero show.’ When I say ‘Yes,’ then they say, ‘Hey Fat Momma!”’

The season finale for the show airs Thursday (Aug. 31) and Fat Momma is one of the finalists. If she wins, her hero will be the focus of a comic book.

She says that would be great, especially since she’s never read a comic book in her life.

Still, if she does win, she hopes to include a scene with her real-life daughter, who is in the Air Force and will be flying off to Baghdad next Monday (Sept. 4).

As she puts it, “She’s the real hero.”
