Todd Bridges Avoids Talking With Actor Who Plays Him

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The story behind the 1970s sitcom Diff’rent Strokes is being made into a new TV- movie but Todd Bridges – who played Willis – admits he avoided talking to the actor who played him.

The movie, Behind The Camera: The Unauthorized Story Of ‘Diff’rent Strokes,’ debuts September 4 on NBC, and Bridges felt it would be best if he didn’t talk with Shedrack Anderson III, who is cast as Bridges.

It wasn’t out of spite, he just wanted Anderson to “find his own road.”

He says it was a good decision – that the actors who portray Bridges and his Strokes co-stars Gary Coleman and Dana Plato “all made the right choices.”

Although the Diff’rent Strokes stories are often held up as the proverbial tales of big child stars gone bad, Bridges says to remember “things can go wrong with kids in general.”
