Songwriting Formula For ‘Greys Anatomy’ Revealed

SILVERLAKE, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The hit doctor drama Grey’s Anatomy owes some of its success to the trendy music featured on the show.

Now, a hip singer-songwriter named Zach Broocke says he knows how to write music guaranteed to go perfectly with Grey’s’ most heart-wrenching moments.

Broocke is pals with both actors and musicians connected to the show, and he’s semi-serious when he claims that “there IS a secret formula for getting a song” on the maudlin medical drama.

As Broocke explains: “It’s got to be slightly spacey, with a simple little melody that’s not too complicated or bold. And it’s got to sound deep without really saying anything specific.”

Broocke adds: “If you can do that once a week, you’ll always have some steady work writing songs for hospital shows.”

If he could bring just one record to play in a real-life hospital stay, Broocke says it’s no contest: “Tom Petty’s Wildflowers.”
