Zombie Not Sure Why ‘DaVinci Code’ Scarier Than ‘The Omen’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Rob Zombie has made his name lately as rock’s death metal diva-turned-director, but now he wants to know what the hell’s so scary about The DaVinci Code?

Zombie first gained notoriety as the founding frontman of the pop-metal act White Zombie, then as the writer-director of such successful indie horror films as The Devil’s Rejects and House of 1000 Corpses.

These days, he’s not only getting ready to hit the road with his band on a co-headlining tour with Godsmack, but he’s also been hired to re-write, direct and produce a new version of John Carpenter’s slasher classic, Halloween.

But what really interests Zombie is why the powers that be are so scared of “a movie like The DaVinci Code and not a remake of The Omen?”

Zombie says he thinks it may be because “no one takes horror movies seriously, really – it’s still an outsider’s art – and that’s probably what drew me to them in the first place.”
