John Schneider: Usually A ‘Duke’ But A Patriot On Memorial Day

AGOURA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actor John Schneider will always be known as a “Duke” but on Memorial Day, he prefers to be considered a patriot.

Schneider will be performing at the PBS National Memorial Concert in Washington, D.C., on Monday (May 29) and it’s the fourth time he’s lent his services to the show.

And there’s a very good reason why. As he puts it, “I keep coming back because it’s the only time of the year when it’s cool to be patriotic.”

Schneider admits it sounds corny but says he gets “an amazing feeling when he sees a 78-year-old soldier who tears up when he sees the flag.”

It’s always an emotional experience for Schneider but it will be especially “heavy” this year. That’s because he’ll be performing “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” during the telecast.
