Sex Activist Pleads: ‘Stop Trying To Rub Out Masturbation’

TORONTO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Although May has been celebrated as “National Masturbation Month” since 1997 – a sex activist in Toronto fears people are trying to rub out self- love altogether.

Cory Silverberg, who co-owns the Come As You Are sex toy shop, says there’s a war against masturbation and it’s becoming harder than ever to engage in self-pleasure.

Silverberg says part of the problem are so-called educators who insist on emphasizing abstinence in sex education programs but refuse to touch on masturbation as a tool for delaying intercourse.

He is rubbed the wrong way as well by a Scottish researcher who claims sex with a partner is 400 percent better than masturbation, because, as Silverberg puts it, “Masturbation can help you become a better lover with others.”

National Masturbation Month officially begins May 1, the same day as the “Day Without Latinos” boycott and, in the spirit of that event Silverberg sarcastically suggests people should “try a whole month without touching themselves.”

However, he doesn’t think anyone could actually do it.
