April 1 Is ‘I’m Embarrassed By My President Day’

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Tomorrow (Apr. 1) is not only April Fools’ Day, it’s also “I’m Embarrassed By My President Day.”

The dubious holiday is the brainchild of Ian Kleinfeld, who runs He suggests Americans celebrate the dubious holiday by wearing brown ribbons, armbands or any other brown-colored article of clothing in order to “protest all the ‘brown material’ flowing out of the White House and stinking up the nation.”

Kleinfeld started the holiday in 2004. He says about 50,000 Americans were down with brown back then.

He figures even more will participate this year and hopes that George W. Bush helps the cause by wearing a brown suit.

Though Dubya inspired the holiday, Kleinfeld figures “I’m Embarrassed By My President” will remain relevant after his passing, since someone will always be embarrassed by our sitting Chief Executive.

However, he adds: “Some presidents are more embarrassing than others.”
