George Aldrich normally sniffs out undesirable odors in spacecrafts for NASA, but he has also become the go-to judge for the National Odor-Eaters Rotten Sneaker Contest, held annually in Montpelier, Vermont.
He admits the job stinks, but reasons, Its a free trip to Vermont. Theres a lot of fresh air there.
This year, the event is being held on March 21, and Aldrich is already mentally preparing himself for the pungent and putrid smells hell have to endure.
He explains, Once it gets up inside the nose, it kinda burns. He admits, Usually when I get back [to work], I recertify my nose to make sure I havent done any damage.
